Christmas rant.

Woke up to Christmas songs blasting from a street speaker I didn't know I had outside my window. I had the weirdest look on my face, like wtf?? but then I remembered Christmas are coming, so people should get all jolly and stuff.

Don't get me wrong. I like holidays. Shopping, decorating the tree, giving and receiving presents but that's all there is to it for me. I am not a very religious person, I wasn't raised to be one and I don't feel bad about it. I have done a little research and, studying Biology has made me realise what I want to believe in and what I think is just brainwashing.

In my head Christmas day is just a day to see relatives and eat until your chair starts ticking. The real event (if you will) is the coming of the New Year, and not so much Jesus birthday (that it's not even on 25/12 but whatever).
So, for people reading this who are religious: that is only how I see this time of the year, if you enjoy going to church and praying then go and have a nice time. For people who don't celebrate Christmas: don't hate, just be happy for the New Year that's coming and let the rest of the people enjoy their holidays too.

Religion is a very sensitive issue, I have come to realise, it gives people hope and strength at times. I think for educated people is just something you do for yourself and you should really not use it as weapon to hurt other people's feelings.
No. Just no.

I wish everyone HAPPY HOLIDAYS
oh and I wish this music would start like, from 11 in the morning instead of 9?
Like, please?

look at Dafne, all dressed up in her bowl

  1. I heard that 25th of December wasn't the true date of Jesus's birth. Any idea what the correct date was?

  2. That's quite alright that you're not religious. I think Christmas has become more of a commercial holiday now anyway. One of my friends' is singing a song for our Christmas concert ans she's Muslim.

We celebrate Christmas with my extended family because they are die heart Catholics. My family is Pagan so we also celebrate winter solstice but I personally don't truly believe in anything.

I really think I've been let down so much from praying/wishing/hoping that I've given up on the thought of anyone controlling our destiny.

On a completely different note, your fish is so cute decked up in lights <3

  3. That is exactly how I feel about Christmas and religion, although you say it a lot better than I ever could. I struggled for so long because religion would make me kind of mad, now I'm just happy to be with family and if your religion makes you happier or able to deal with stuff better, good for you. I hope you have a great holiday season!

  4. Awe cute fish! lol I agree with you on all counts about the religion thing. It can be used for good or evil, acceptance or discrimination. I'm fine with anything as long as it doesn't hurt others. Anyways, have a good holiday :)
