Saturday facts

1. Half day at the beach is fun. Even if the company you're with isn't

2. I have a flat stomach by not eating for half a day. Imagine what a good old "starving" would do. (more holidays coming up, I must look better than that)

3. I don't know why but my wavy hair brings all the boys to the yard -I see Keli's Milkshake point now :p

4. I DON'T LIKE MY WAVY HAIR

5. I must start studying

6. I may go broke soon- my eyes demand some Ray Ban Clubmasters (if I could have them in black/silver instead of black/gold, please) and I'm "Saving for later" on Asos like crazy

7. I must start studying

8. My tan is getting serious

9. I realised I'm addicted to chaos. Silence irritates me

10. I don't want to start studying

Interesting look.

Come to the Dark side

As my mood swings drive me and everyone around me mad, here I am on a lab free Friday. I also got Monday off cause my sister is coming on Sunday and I'd love to wake up and have a nice breakfast at sea with her, rather than running to the bus stop at 9 in the morning.

So sweet Peridot, with all her lovely comments, insisted I should get away with not going to the lab if it's not mandatory. And then it hit me. I haven't really explained what I'm doing this summer, have I?
I took this three months course last semester, where you can pick a lab and spend time getting experience. When the time is up, you write a little essay, give it to your lab supervisor and he gives you a grade. It's like a class of your choice. Funny thing is that I chose to work on the development of the fish without caring about taking it as an actual class. Voluntarily, some might say. But when it came to tell me exactly what my job would be, I got a little more interested and decided to do the whole job and not only what I would manage in a three month time. So I figured (thank God) I should also get a mark on that (it was a 10/10!).
That's what I am doing here, finishing this project I started up on late February and getting the chance to co-write a paper (very important thing in the science world- especially for an undergrad).

In other news, I'm thinking about a makeover. I mean my style, as some of you can tell, is changing a little bit. I'm cutting out all the cuteness and I'm putting statement pieces, basic shirts and plain cut lines. But I'm also thinking about changing my hair. So my hair: it's really a love/hate thing. I really love it to be one colour but with the sun and the meetings at the salon it has now over three colours. Light brown (my natural colour), some bronze highlights (at the salon) and well, blonde shades of the sunlight. I decided -against all odds- to dye(?) them. Dark brown. I'm terrified and I will definitely ask my hairdresser first but I want them to look like in the picture down below. For winter. At least.

this is the prettiest Urban Outfitters model I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot. No joke.

Irritable. Kind of.

Just stopping to let you know I'm okay. These days have been so blah, no amount of sale shopping can make it right, apparently. Yesterday, trying to make everything better, I had a ben n jerries ice cream, did some flirting with a guy I know we have already met somewhere (and I think he did too) but I can't remember when or where and I bought a shirt and a bra on Intimissimi sale.

But this blah mood is still following me, and I think today I figured it all out. I want less stress on my summer, less lab hours, I want to go to the beach which is literally half an hour away. I also want my friends back.
Anyway, I believe I will cheer up this weekend because my sister's coming for holidays! Oh, I've missed her so much!! We're going to rent a car, have drinks, get tan, everything!!

But until then, it's lab lab lab.
Lab.

this is me on a daily basis.
release the Kraken!

The 700

Are we really that many?!
I really want to thank you guys (well, girls, mostly) for these past years. It's very nice to know that somebody's reading what you write and maybe even comments on it. I'm not going to lie, taking some of your time to write a comment has always a big influence on me and makes me happy. You made me smile, laugh, think, made me feel special when no one around me was willing/able to. I really would like to thank you about that. There are even some of you who I will always have a special part on my heart for. You know who you are :)
The new ones, all I can say is that I'll try and get to know you and please leave any questions down below, if there are any. Note though that this is not a pro-ana blog (cause I've been listed as such in the past) and I cannot give you any "tips" for it. Please and thank you.

Moving on to the actual post, working at that place yesterday was kinda boring but also fun. I'm doing it again soon. My eating has been really low this weekend, probably because I got my period so I've been feeling bloated the whole time. I spent Sunday catching up on season 4 of How I Met Your Mother. Interesting, huh?
I also went on Asos.com and wandered around sale items. I chose this, they should match my rose gold Michael Kors watch (3 posts below) so I can't wait!! It also has an extra 10% off so I got them for 9.95 which is sweet. Then I went a little crazy and bought one pair of leggings and a winter kimono as well. I know, I know, I shouldn't have, with all the Milan expenses and everything but they were too cute to resist..

I can't wait for them to come !!
although they're a little bit winter-ish :p

they look interesting, don't they?

Well, fuck.

Today is one of these days when everything seems black. I couldn't sleep (again) last night, and today was the ugly consequence of that. Irritated, bored, sleepy and just not in the mood. For anything.

On top of that I got the usb stick with Milan photos. Lots of them. It was nice to see all the cool places and the smiley faces, but I couldn't help but notice (and judge) my body on all of them. My god, who is this round person? My arms look bigger than ever and my cheeks are so full it looks like I'm gonna blow up. Yes, I maybe judged too hard but honestly, I must do something about this.
Summer isn't over, holidays are not over and I can't stay that way.

I will start recording my eating and weight daily here. There's no other way.
In other news, tomorrow I'm working for five hours at a children's theme park. I hope I don't strangle any of them! It will be nice to stay away from food half the day.

The shopping post

So these are the stuff I bought in Milan. I also got some presents and the traditional lemon liquor (limoncello) but I won't be posting photos of them.

Brandy Melville denim shorts. Do you know this store? It's awesome, and American, I think. My dad's old leather belt :p

Brandy Melville again. This dress is so chic. What you see is the back of the dress, it's backless with two lace endings. I have to find a formal occasion to wear this asap!

I've worn this H&M necklace three times already and I've gotten so many compliments!

This is my most controversial purchase. I got it from a vintage shop right by the river and I love it to bits! It's a double leather skull and stud bracelet and I promise I won't ever ever wear it as a necklace!

H&M cardigan. It's pale pink and gold and it's so much more stylish than it looks in the photo. Lovable purchase as well :)

Sorry about the shitty quality. It's a Brandy Melville buttoned down tunic shirt!

I loved this tank top so much I wore it in Milan the minute I got it!

So all in all I'm happy about my new clothes!
What do you think?

Bacci mille !

I am back from Italy!!
Oh, every time I go there I fall over and over in love with this country.. I really wish my future has some Italy in it, maybe to work for a few years or even have a family. Yes, after London of course! Italian men are so handsome and flirty, and us being 5 girls we had surely loads of fun!

I went to Milan, Florence and Venice. Florence, as you may know, I've visited last New Year's holidays (along with Rome). But Milan and Venice was a first time.
Venice!! It's so magical, romantic, everything! I couldn't stop looking around, through the canals, over the bridges, it was like a fairytale.. oh!
Milan was the epitome of streetstyle. I was so jealous of all the Balenciaga city bags everywhere (my only favourite designer's bag) and of the style women have there. I wore heels one day too, we were trying to fit in and it was so hilarious!

I must make an Italy shopping post, but I would like to show you my top (and most expensive) purchase, a Michael Kors watch which typically is my parent's present for my 22nd birthday. They gave me some money to buy a watch from Milan, so I chose this one.

do you like it?
It was pretty lame trying it on at the MK boutique with different colours on my nails though (we visited KIKO right before, an italian make up store).

siete tutti belli :)

Packing my suitcase! Getting ready for Milan, after long hours at the lab. It's a bit hectic lately at the lab but hey, I knew how summer was going to be...and it's looking promising!

I got my exams results and believe it or not, they are above average! After all this drama, and alcohol and birthday parties I managed to pass all my tests and even achieved a perfect score (10) at one!!

I'm calm, one kilo thinner, tanned (amazing time at the sea yesterday) and ready to board on that plane!

see you soon,

p.s. I hope the title makes sense :p

Tips

July found me not having a gym membership! Oh my God, this has not happened in almost 5 years, can you believe it? As soon as I realised that, I spent hours on Youtube, looking for nice and interesting work out videos to do.

Let me just say that, although ToneItUp has helped me over the last two years to stay toned, and Karena and Katrina are amazing people, it just doesn't do it for me. I sure recommend checking them out though!!

But now I'm going to show you have I've been into the past week or so. These two videos help me stay on the go and tone my abs, cause weight loss isn't enough.

So, when I first clicked on that video, I laughed. And I laughed hard. Probably it's a very old work out, judging from the style and haircuts. BUT! the views were so many (from all the different up-loaders anyway) so I decided to give it a try. My abs were burning so much and I try to do this everyday. Sometimes I just do half of it, and even then my abs notice it :p

The second one is also a hard laugh. I'm sorry but trying to stay motivated I chose the two opposite sides of "workout dudes". She is hot! She is so hot it's the opposite of motivating, I just want to sit at the corner and cry.. but I found the most fun exercise EVER! It's fun, if you don't mind bruised hipbones. A week later I moved my mat lower to my tummy and my hipbones are totally better :)

Try them and see for yourself!!
