It's the first day

So to motivate myself (and probably others) I'm putting up here a photo at the start of the gluten free week. Now I don't know whether I'm keeping it up forever, but it will stay for a good seven days.

Here is me this morning, 60.8 kilos and on my third period day (excuse the massive panties, but we girls understand each other, right?).

due to certain difficulties explained on my previous post, I'm not saying this will be a 100% gluten free week. But I'm avoiding wheat for sure, something much easier to do here. Anyway, other than being toned, I hate how my stomach sticks out, my thunder thighs and the fact that anything I'd do won't bring out my collarbones.
But we'll see :)

The diet post

So, despite the slight fever and the nausea that hits me almost every night lately (I'm not pregnant, it's just that I'm on my period I guess) I continue to make each and every post I've promised the past month. I did all my new ins, my goals, and now I present you: the DIET post.

I think it was this time last year when I decided to go vegetarian. Being anemic and all, it didn't last more than a month. I enjoyed the vegetarian dishes when I was out, but this is what I always order when I'm at a restaurant anyways. The easiness of cooking pasta at home was very catastrophic though. My blood tests were also affected so I had to abandon this ship pretty quickly.

And because every time I'm on exams my craziness hits me, this morning I decided to try going gluten free. While that sounds appealing, I must remind you I live on an island where the words hummus, ombre and apple store do not exist. So I can't find gluten free products or meals at the supermarket. I guess there are some products for the gluten free intolerants, but that could be highly expensive and maybe require an online order.

So, for a week, I will try and do that. I guess fruits, meat, plain yoghurt and rice is pretty much the gist. And if it all fails, I will try it again when university classes start, just to be sure that I can't do it :p

Any advice?

Why today is a happy day

I decided to give this post a rather kindergarden title, because it was much needed. For the past four days (noticed I only posted new-ins, no words or news, huh?) I was feeling so so shitty. Everything felt moving, I couldn't smile and I was nauseous all the time. I got some bad news from people I love and care about, and combined to mine (bugs, exams, PMS) felt like a whole wall had fallen over me. I even had a little fever yesterday, but it wasn't something serious enough that a hot tea and bath couldn't fix.

Why today is a happy day.
I had my first exam this morning. Although I slept so little hours due to the neighbours and my fever, I did rather good on my test. I also saw some of my friends from uni, and some of my old friends (that I didn't want to speak to). I then went for a walk with Ka and we did some shopping. I got this for my living room from Zara Home (I love this store) and it smells amazing! I'm planning to get the smaller one for my bathroom too.
Then I found a pair of black skinny jeans on Zara- just like the ones I was looking for. It was among the maternity sales items and it was on my size! I guess someone has "hidden" it to find it afterwards (that is something I would do :p) So I got it for 15 euros and I'm very happy about this purchase.

Then a mechanic came to my home to bug-proof it even more, and I have to say I smiled after such a long time! I mean I'm not relaxed yet, but I'm having a good progress.

And afterwards, before I started studying, I decided to make the move. I ordered a bag off of amazon. Yes, it is a fake designer bag. Before you get judgemental, I will say that I wanted the bag for such a long time and that, of course the money is the main problem that I don't buy the original one, I couldn't possibly wear a real leather item. That is why I'm not buying the bag I wanted from Zara either. It's cow leather. So no.

Another reason to smile: the first smell of autumn. I'll take that!

Any guesses which bag it is?
hint: it's not a Chanel. I would never buy a fake Chanel. there are boundaries :p

August purchases

This summer I did some serious shopping.
Here, the long promised platform sneakers, and a happy H&M shopping trip :)

H&M spike necklace. I've been wanting this for so long!
also available in gold. (photo at my friend's house)

converse inspired H&M grey sneakers. they're actually really comfortable and for only 20euro you could consider getting the dark blue and the pink ones as well haha!
 (photo still at my friend's)

H&M mint green gardigan. I can't wait to for
sweater weather! this has a vintage feeling which I love (photo my place)

my platforms!! okay, they're indeed difficult to match,
I haven't worn them yet but I just love watching them lol (photo my place)

don't they look cute? I got them on sale too :)

that would be all

New-est In

Sunday morning.
I always get the blues at Sundays, so I have found a rather easy way to cheer myself up. Shopping. Much cheaper than therapy, they say. But here the shops are closed on Sundays, so Asos is the only alternative (having free worldwide delivery and all).

I'm slowly changing my style to a more street/rock/minimal chic and I really love how effortlessly stylish I can be. It's not for everyone, but I believe it works for me. Monochromes, simple cuts and metal is the key to all my new purchases but I try not to overdo it.

Today I went a little bit crazy over "clean metal" -this is how I describe it- and got some essentials for my upcoming autumn outfits. All the photos are from Asos.com

a set of three ear cuffs
two hand cuffs. I prefer wearing them on the same hand
this is really beautiful. I hope it fits my big big hair (probably won't)

tell me what you think!!

Autumn/Winter Goals

So, as always, I'm going to start my semester by setting a new group of goals. I usually do that on my birthday, but see, all the happiness/drama/exams/alcohol got in the way so I don't recall actually writing such a post back then (June 21).

-First (and foremost) goal ever. Lose weight. My first goal is to reach 57 (-3) and then 55. Until Christmas, that is. I also have a Topshop skinny trouser which never really fitted me well (well enough to be seen in public, or be able to breathe :p) so I'm thinking of it as a motivation. I've never really used a clothing item as a motivation, cause I wear my clothes rather loose.

-Next on the list. University. This is typically my last year (year 4) on my Biology degree but I'm planning on getting a university job for another semester. So I have classes to attend, a paper to publish (SO excited!) and a neurobiology lab to work in (hopefully). So much to do.

-Oh, this is funny.. How about a boyfriend? Well, I have four guys who actually like me this period of time, and I like two of them. I'm going to dates, etc, but if you follow me enough time, you know that I'm weird and crazy by now. I have the ability (it's a skill, really) to fail EVERY relationship. Let's try and change that? Maybe with K, maybe with G.. There's laughing inside my head. I will keep you updated though, promise.

-Save some money for this Christmas's big thing. It's not a holiday. It's not a purchase. But I can't tell you what it is just yet I'm afraid. Maybe in a month or so.

These are the biggest one's, I guess. I hope for health and happiness most of all though. Cause you need both of them. For me, my family and each and every one of you :)

Back to normal

for now.

The house is so clean but of course I'm not totally relaxed. I'm not willing to cook because I'm a little scared at the kitchen (that's where the most bugs were found) so I am going to give it a little time and just convince myself everything is okay.

I don't have anything to say right now, I haven't eaten for so long and I'm so exhausted from the cleaning. Oh, I saw Batman yesterday! So cool, interesting and really amazing in general. If you haven't seen it yet, GO!

I also took out of my closet everything that wasn't worn a year now. Tops, cardigans, some scarves and a very new pair of Zara boots that weren't so lucky with me.. I gave everything to the lady who helped me clean the house and she got so happy!! She has two little kids and she's from a poor country too so she was very excited with them. It's something I have been taught to do by my mother. Every September we would take away any clothes that don't fit and give them to families that need them. It always makes me so happy.

Anyway, going for a long shower, this week was shit.
Bye :)

Ignorance.

I'm home, after a really early morning bumpy flight. I slept for so long and emptied my suitcase from all the clothes etc.My house is rather unfriendly lately, having some bugs that really give me the creeps. I'm going to put a spray on every corner of the house tonight and sleep at a friend's, after having a salad and some drinks at the center of the town.

Next week my exams start. Oh boy, I really don't have the strength to start ruthless studying. Cause that's what it's needed. Anyway, this is mostly a keeping-up post so I'm going to write a bit of everything again.

Tomorrow, when I come back from my friend's house I have to fix any damages on my house (or find the mechanic who will) and then go to supermarket. On my list: shampoo, yoghurt, fruits, basmati rice, cleaning stuff. I'm really fed up with all the eating and a light detox from any oily/fatty food will be perfect. I'm also eager to lose some weight until October. First goal? 58 kilos -3 kilos off that is.

Then I'm having a Starbucks study group until the closing hours to get in the mood. Scheduled to appear on my calendar this week: O, who is looking for me, apparently (he hasn't decided if he hates me or not yet), the bboy (he's fun, I like him) and my period. I dread for next week, when pretty much everyone will be back.

Outfit for the night: Brandy Melville denim shorts, Zara dark grey T-shirt, H&M silver spike necklace (picture soon) and H&M dark grey converse inspired shoes (picture expected, too).

I just love anything spike-d lately.
I'm pretty sure getting the grunge...

Packing

Last day at my home town. Summer holidays will be officially over and new plans and goals must be set from tomorrow on. I can't wait. It was a lovely and hectic summer and I have to say I had a nice relaxed time- that said, I wouldn't want to re-live it. Weird, huh.

Some changes. My hair was an dark orange mess from all the highlights and all the sun so I took a major chance. I decided to lightly ombre-d it. I know, my first choice was a dark chocolate colour (some posts ago). But it's still August so I decided to wait for it until Christmas time. The chance though was too risky. After reading blog post after blog post about bad ombre experiences for a year now I was truly convinced it was a major thing to achieve. But looking like shit wasn't an option, so I downloaded 2-3 pictures of ombre hair from Google and visited my local salon at my summer house. They didn't know what ombre was, of course. But Z, my hair stylist does EXACTLY what she is told to do. So she saw the pictures and saved my hair from a disaster and from the rainbow mess it used to be. Congrats. Of course it's not that obvious, summer is still in so my dark blond tips are expected to turn lighter. Then maybe I will post a picture of it. Oh, and I love my darker roots, it's 1-2 tones darker than my natural colour.

Another change. I bought a new cologne. Small changes are much needed right now, September is going to be difficult (stay tuned for a rant). So after Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, Juicy Couture and Rock n Rose, I decided to try a 'new' scent. Narciso Rodriguez for her, eau de toilette. My God it was pricey! But I bet it's worth the 60 euro. I would describe it as mysterious yet classy. And maybe a little too much.

So all in all, tomorrow I'm starting posting on a daily basis again. Posts to be expected: my weird platforms, September/university/relationships rant, my recent H&M shopping trip and of course some new goals.

I have such a crush to this girl.. it's getting pretty weird. Also, what do you think about this leggings? I love love love them!

Up-date no2

So, I guess I can blog from my iPhone.. Tonight I'm heading home from my holidays, but the boat refuses to sail.. We're almost two hours late and we're still not moving. Anyway, this week's holidays were a bit weird. To be honest, I'd rather not have them at all. But more details later on, when I'm safe and alone with my laptop. I'm spening this week with my family and next Sunday I'm flying home, where I have so much studying to do!! The boy came to see me today, wishing me a safe trip and all. I don't really know what to tell you about him, only time will tell. If this gets posted, then I'll just say that I've missed you all :) xx

Cucumber

One night. This is all I have to catch up with all of you guys, to pack my clothes and get a good sleep. Definitely not enough. I had so much fun with my sister, lots of sun and swimming and lots of cocktails!

I maintained my weight luckily and I'm planning on losing 1-2 kilos this week. Much easier not to eat when you don't have a fridge and a family member on your head. To be honest, I don't want to leave my home for these two weeks (yes, a boy is involved in this decision, you got that!), but everything will be okay until I get back :)

I really can't go through the details right now,
but I really do hope everyone is having a wonderful summer (or winter) !!

Caramel / Vanilla

August is in, and I may not be blogging much often. My sister is here now, so my alone times are non existent. We're having a really good time, getting tanned, shopping, eating and chatting. It's just lovely, and tomorrow we're renting a car too so that should be fun!

I bought a pair of platforms today (pictures on hold, they're one of those kind that look like sneakers, and they're purple!). They were on sale, and I've been flirting with them over Asos for so long but they were too expensive. So when I walked to the store I fell in love and there where like 40% off so despite all the weird looks I got from the ladies/customers at the boutique, I said "what the hell" and got them!
Tomorrow I'm expecting the Asos bag to arrive, so I'm excited about lots of things on the first day of August. Lab work is finally ending (really slowly, but nonetheless).

Everything looks nice and I'm enjoying every day left until September's exams.
Promise me you will have a great time too :)
